Franchise in a Box is in association with a company called Josh Designs to do all the concept designing and project management of all the stores. We create new concepts and also redesign old concepts.

Josh Designs was started in 2003 by interior designer, Jo-Ann den Hoed, after leaving Retail Shopfitting Services (RSS) - which was part of the Mr Price Group. As a senior designer there, she worked on the group brands - Mr Price, Milady’s, Galaxy Jewellers & The Hub, as well as many other stores such as NWJ, Auto Page Cellular, Rythmic Beat, Girl Zone, Freddo Ice Cream, Fashion Square & Ooh La La.

Josh Designs offers a turnkey service, from design concept, construction drawings, in-store graphics & menus, to project management.

Lathi Tha’ Eyecare - Full concept design & project management. Built 11 stores to date.

Hops & Barley - Design & project management or pub/restaurant at Gateway, Hillcrest, Ballito & Riverside.

Heritage Supper Theatre - Completed the design & build of a new supper theatre, seating 250 persons. Included kitchen layout, stage, dressing rooms, sound, lighting & acoustics.

Olive & Oil Restaurants - Design & project management of up-market Mediterranean style restaurants located in Durban, Umhlanga Rocks, Hillcrest & Ballito. These are all approximately 450sqm in size & include full kitchen layouts.
